The Pilgrim

Just a quiet, geeky girl with a passion for life and a desire for the eternal.   I’m only a little, ordinary traveler who has embarked upon the extraordinary journey back Home.  I’m still learning what it means to be fully alive.  But glorious adventure awaits and I’m going to run to meet it.

“the sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from – my country, the place where I ought to have been born.  do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing for home? for indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back.”  ~ CS Lewis, Til We Have Faces

courage, dear heart //  the glory of God is man fully alive  //  I never changed, I just learned // you are of infinite worth // a ship is safe in a harbor, but that is not what ships are meant for // do it with passion and love or not at all // and I will love with urgency, but not with haste // get up. dress up. show up. never give up.  // the true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him  // some people are so poor, all they have is money // I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, her flaming self-respect, and it’s these things I believe in.  I love her and that is the beginning of everything //  I want to thrive and not just survive // there are many beautiful reasons to be happy // because Your love is better than life my lips will glorify you // never sacrifice three things – your family, your heart, your dignity // and then I realized adventure was the best way to learn  // You call me out upon the waters, the great unknown where feet may fail  //courage doesn’t always roar.  sometimes, it is that small voice that says at the end of the day, “I will try again” // the earth has music for those who listen  // that was the day she made herself the promise to live more from intention and less from habit
